2023-02-12, Switching regulator - boost/step-down, Inverter 3.4A

The MC34163 series are monolithic power switching regulators that contain the primary functions required for dc−to−dc converters. This series is specifically designed to be incorporated in step−up, step−down, and voltage−inverting applications with a minimum number of external components.

Technology Cover

2023-02-12, Key on-off mode PFC controller

The FAN7930C is an active power factor correction (PFC) controller for boost PFC applications that operate in critical conduction mode (CRM). It uses a voltage−mode PWM that compares an internal ramp signal with the error amplifier output to generate a MOSFET turn−off signal. Because the voltage−mode CRM PFC controller does not need rectified AC line voltage information, it saves the power loss of an input voltage−sensing network necessary for a current−mode CRM PFC controller

Technology Cover

2023-02-11, ON Semiconductor 14 bit binary counter and oscillator

The MC14060B is a 14−stage binary ripple counter with an on−chip oscillator buffer. The oscillator configuration allows design of either RC or crystal oscillator circuits. Also included on the chip is a reset function which places all outputs into the zero state and disables the oscillator. A negative transition on Clock will advance the counter to the next state. Schmitt trigger action on the input line permits very slow input rise and fall times. Applications include time delay circuits, counter controls, and frequency dividing circuits

Technology Cover

2023-02-05, Dual boot, 12v MOSFET driver output disabled

The ADP3120A is a single Phase 12 V MOSFET gate drivers optimized to drive the gates of both high−side and low−side power MOSFETs in a synchronous buck converter. The high−side and low−side driver is capable of driving a 3000 pF load with a 45 ns propagation delay and a 25 ns transition time

Technology Cover

2023-01-14, Low drive GTLP/LVTTL 1:6 clock drive

The GTLP6C817 is a low drive clock driver that provides TTL to GTLP signal level translation (and vice versa). The device provides a high speed interface between cards operating at TTL logic levels and a backplane operating at GTLP logic levels. High speed backplane operation is a direct result of GTLP’s reduced output swing (<1V), reduced input threshold levels and output edge rate control.

Technology Cover

2023-01-11, ON Semiconductor offers 100 mA negative voltage regulators

The MC79L00A Series negative voltage regulators are inexpensive, easy−to−use devices suitable for numerous applications requiring up to 100 mA. Like the higher powered MC7900 Series negative regulators, this series features thermal shutdown and current limiting, making them remarkably rugged. In most applications, no external components are required for operation

Technology Cover

2023-01-10, 1.5 A, 340 kHz, Buck regulator and synchronization capability

The NCP1547 is a 1.5 A buck regulator IC operating at a fixed−frequency of 340 kHz. The device uses the V2™ control architecture to provide unmatched transient response, the best overall regulation and the simplest loop compensation for today’s high−speed logic. The NCP1547 accommodates input voltages from 4.0 V to 40 V and contains synchronization circuitry.

Technology Cover

2023-01-07, Onsemi's EliteSiC silicon carbide series solutions bring industry-leading energy efficiency

Onsemi's 1700 V EliteSiC MOSFET (NTH4L028N170M1) delivers SiC solutions with higher breakdown voltage (BV) required for high power industrial applications. Two 1700 V Avalanche EliteSiC Schottky diodes (NDSH25170A, NDSH10170A) allow designers to achieve stable operation at high temperatures and pressures while enabling high energy efficiency from SiC.

Technology Cover

2023-01-05, CMOS 3CH−LDOs of onsemi RF unit

The NCP4523 Series are multi voltage regulator ICs with high output voltage accuracy, extremely low supply current, low noise, low ON−resistance and high ripple rejection by CMOS process. The NCP4523 Series contain three voltage regulators. Each of these voltage regulators in the NCP4523 Series consists of a voltage reference unit, an error amplifier, resistors for setting output voltage, a current limit circuit and a chip enable circuit

Technology Cover

2023-01-05, Half Bridge LLC Resonant Control IC Lighting FLS-XS series

The FLS−XS series of general lighting power controllers includes highly integrated power switches for medium− to high−power lumens applications. Offering everything necessary to build a reliable and robust half−bridge resonant converter, the FLS−XS series simplifies designs and improves productivity, while improving performance.

Technology Cover

2023-01-01, ACPI dual switch controller

The FAN5067 is an ACPI Switch Controller for Pentium IV Platforms. It is controlled by PWROK, SLP_S3 and SLP_S5, and provides 3.3V or 5V Dual and VADJ Dual output for SDRAM or DDR with 200mA minimum base current for an external NPN transistor. An on-board precision low TC reference achieves tight tolerance voltage regulation without expensive external components.

Technology Cover

2022-12-30, Green current mode PWM controller

The FAN7602 is a green current mode PWM controller. It is specially designed for off-line adapter application, DVDP, VCR, LCD monitor application, and auxiliary power supplies. The internal high-voltage start-up switch and the burstmode operation reduce the power loss in standby mode. Because of the internal start-up switch and the burst mode, it is possible to supply 0.5W load, limiting the input power to under 1W when the input line voltage is 265VAC. On no-load condition, the input power is under 0.3W
