Bourns Introduces SSD Digital Series Current Sensors

Post auf Juli 16, 2024

July 12, 2024 - Riverside, California - Bourns, a leading global supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, proudly announces the launch of its SSD Digital Series current sensors.
These innovative digital DC shunt-based current sensors provide exceptional accuracy, stability, and electrical isolation across a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +115°C. These compact and highly integrated System-in-Package (SiP) devices are ideal for various battery-related current sensing applications, including large-scale energy storage systems, renewable energy generation infrastructure, industrial motor drives, building automation systems, and electric vehicle charging stations.
The Bourns® SSD series features a 16-bit automotive-grade microcontroller unit (MCU) that delivers ±0.1% full-scale accuracy. The internal 24-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) offers plug-and-play simplicity, significantly streamlining the implementation design process. This allows engineers to quickly integrate high-precision current measurement into new designs or retrofit it into existing ones. These shunt-based current sensors also eliminate the need for periodic device calibration while providing highly accurate measurements, enhancing the efficient use of electrical power.
The series includes two models: the RS-485 interface model, which can also be configured as MODBUS RTU, and a customizable CANbus model.
