Common Mode Semiconductor Debuts GM12071 to Replace ADI ADP7104/ADP7102

Post auf August 9, 2024

Common Mode Semiconductor is proud to announce the release of the GM12071, a 20V/500mA low-power, low-noise LDO (Low Dropout) voltage regulator designed to replace ADI’s ADP7104 and ADP7102. The GM12071, a CMOS-based LDO, operates from 1.9V to 20V and delivers a maximum output current of 500mA.
This high-input voltage LDO is ideal for regulating high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits powered between 1.2V and 20V. Featuring an advanced proprietary architecture, it provides excellent power supply rejection and low noise characteristics while maintaining low quiescent current. The regulator achieves superior line and load transient response with just a 2.2µF small ceramic output capacitor. The GM12071 exhibits an output noise of 8.5µVRMS, independent of the fixed output voltage options.

Product Overview
About the Product The GM12071 offers six fixed output voltage options, with available stock including 1.2V (adjustable), 1.22V (adjustable), 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5.0V. Each fixed output voltage can be adjusted above its initial setting point using an external feedback divider, providing output voltages ranging from 1.2V to VIN - VDO with high PSRR and low noise. The GM12071 comes in 6-pin DFN and 8-pin SOP packages, with the DFN package supporting user-programmable soft start via external capacitors.

Typical Application
The GM12071 is a high-voltage, low-noise, high-precision, low-dropout linear regulator, capable of delivering 500mA with a typical dropout voltage of 480mV. It supports an input voltage range of 1.9V to 20V and fixed output voltages from 1.2V to 5.0V. Adjustable output voltages range from 1.2V to 20V - VDO. The wide input voltage range ensures stable output, and additional input capacitance with low ESR may improve output noise performance if the input power source is noisy.
