Allegro Microsystems A8591 Buck Voltage Regulator IC

Technology Cover
Nach Datum: 2022-11-03, Allegro MicroSystems, LLC

The A8591 of Allegro Microsystems provides all control and protection circuits to produce a fixed 5V or 3.3V output, with a ± 1% output voltage accuracy of 2a regulators. The A8591 uses pulse frequency modulation (PFM) from 12v (on) to provide 5 V/40 μ A. This makes it an ideal choice for automotive battery powered "live" applications. Sleep function reduces the standby current to 5 μ A。

When operating, the operating voltage of A8591 is at least 3.6 V (at) (V (at) drops). The PWM switching frequency of the regulator can be programmed with a resistor or synchronized with an external clock. The A8591 has external compensation to optimize stability and transient response for a wide range of external components and applications. The soft start time of the A8591 is fixed at 5 ms.

A8591 targets the following applications in the automotive market: instrument cluster, audio system, navigation, HUD, ADAS and HVAC. It is supplied in a 10 pin wettable wing DFN package (suffix EJ) with exposed power pads. It is lead free (Pb), 100% matte tin plated lead frame
