SEGGER has released a J-Link package specifically for the Windows on Arm platform. It can be downloaded and used by all J-Link and J-trace units for free.

J-link and J-Trace using Windows on Arm have the same look and feel as they do on Intel/AMD-powered computers. The new package runs software on Arm processors, ensuring no performance or power loss during simulation.

The new software package contains the same components as the J-Link software suite, providing the same functionality as other operating systems. This includes command line programs and GUI tools such as J-Flash, J-Scope, J-Flash SPI, J-Link configurator, and GUI versions of SEGGER GDB Server.

Rolf SEGGER, founder of SEGGER said:"SEGGER products have been multi-platform for many years,"  "J-link software can now run on any combination of Linux, macOS and Windows on Intel/AMD or Arm. Our embedded specialists have done an excellent job of quickly adapting to emerging trends and technologies. They proved once again that SEGGER is truly future-oriented. Ease of use, robustness, unmatched performance, direct download to flash, unlimited number of breakpoints in flash, and compatibility with all popular environments, to name just a few, make J-Link an unbeatable choice."

The company tested the J-Link software on Arm using Microsoft Surface tablets and Raspberry Pi, as well as arm-powered VIRTUAL machines on M1 Macs.
