Diodes AP22980 6V/6A low-RON power switches are a compact single-channel high-side power switch with flutter rate control, three-state soft start, and active output discharge path. The AP22980 contains an n-channel MOSFET that supports a maximum continuous current of 6A and operates in the input range of 0.285V to 5.5V.
Typical Applications Circuit
The device has a wide input voltage range and high current capability, so it can be used in a variety of systems and applications. The AP22980 has an ultra-low on-off resistance of 5.1mΩ (typical value) to minimize voltage drop and power loss. It also has a low static supply current of 60µA (typical value), making it ideal for systems where standby power consumption needs to be considered. The AP22980 provides a variety of VOUT conversion rates through the three-state logic input of the SS pin, eliminating the need for external components.
Functional Block Diagram
The AP22980 has a 50Ω on-chip resistor that allows the output to discharge quickly when the switch is disabled, thus avoiding unknown downstream loads due to power fluctuations. If the junction temperature exceeds 125℃, the overtemperature protection circuit will be activated to protect the AP22980 itself and downstream circuits from damage. Diodes Inc.
