The MIC5201 is a highly efficient linear regulator with extremely low step-down (typically 17 mV at light load, 200 mV at 100 mA) and extremely low ground current (1 mA at 100 mA output) with logically-compatible switching inputs that provide better than 1% initial accuracy. Designed for handheld battery-powered devices, the MIC5201 can be switched on and off by CMOS enabling signals.If not, the enable control can connect directly to the VIN. When disabled, power consumption drops to almost zero.

The MIC5201's ground current increases only slightly at drop-out, further extending battery life. Key features of the MIC5201 include current limiting, overheated shutdown, and battery reversal prevention. The MIC5201 is available in several fixed voltage and precision configurations. It has the same pins as the LT1121 for better performance.
