Pickering Electronics has introduced a new miniature coaxial reed relay for high frequency RF systems up to 3GHz. The 113RF Series SIL/SIP Reed Relays have a small footprint of 2mm pin pitch, allowing them to be stacked in very high density.

These small shielded reed relays are faster and smaller than electromagnetic relays (EMRs), have lower insertion loss and better DC capability than solid state relays (SSRs), and better thermal performance than microelectromechanical (MEM) relays switch performance. The 113RF series reed relays are suitable for switching signals up to 10W, 0.5A. The 1 Form A configuration (SPST normally open) offers a choice of 3V or 5V coils with coil resistances up to 100 or 300 ohms, respectively.

At lower levels, the typical life expectancy of the 113RF Series Reed Relay exceeds 250 million reliable operations. Relays feature the highest quality instrument grade reed switches with sputtered ruthenium contacts ideal for automated test equipment. All 113RF series reed relays feature an internal mu-metal magnetic shield, which allows high-density stacking of relays, avoiding the risk of operating errors due to interference between adjacent devices.
